Donna Kisoun is Inuvialuit and Gwich’in with roots
in the Beaufort Delta of the Northwest Territories and
Old Crow, Yukon. Presently she resides in Ottawa and
works for Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami as a Senior Project
Coordinator for the Socio-Economic Development department.
Her work involves her in policy development and advocacy
for Inuit involvement in various capacity building,
community development, early childhood development,
and culture and language preservation initiatives within
Government of Canada departments and Human Resource
Development Sector Councils.
Donna has built her skill through formal education,
work experience, elected office, and community involvement.
She studied Aboriginal Business and Self Government
at the University of Lethbridge and attended workshops
to complement her areas of expertise. Donna served
as Vice Chair of Inuvialuit Regional Corporation,
Chairperson of Inuvik Community Corporation, and Vice
President of Pauktuutit Inuit Women’s Association.
