The Architecture department has witnessed various demonstrations of lettering machines. We have concluded that the Kroy 360 printer is the machine that would best suit Wayne’s needs. The Kroy would be centrally located so all disciplines would have access. The Kroy is available in all of Wayne’s standard fonts including Bodini and Universe. The especially designed tape for architects and engineers is heat pressed and doesn’t come off in blueprint or photocopy machines. The Kroy has memory capabilities of 32 000 characters.
A demonstration by the manufacturer’s rep should be attended by people who will frequently use it, or one person per department. The cost of the Kroy is $1700. They will take our existing Kroy as a trade-in for $300. We can also trade in our tape supply and put it toward our first font purchase. Once ordered it takes 3 days to deliver. The total balance is due after 30 days. The Kroy comes with a one-year warranty.

This memo presents my recommendations for the purchase of a new lettering machine.

My choice is the Kroy 360 printer.

These are the strengths of the Kroy 360 printer:
Fonts: The Kroy 360 is available in all of Wayne’s standard fonts, including Bodoni and Universe.
Tape: The especially designed tape for architects and engineers is heat pressed and doesn’t come off in blueprint or photocopy machines.
Memory: The Kroy has memory capabilities of 32 000 characters
