Marking Scheme::

  • Composed of three parts.  All three parts must be passed to achieve a pass in the course !
  • Theory (35%)
    • Final Exam (35%):  The final examination date/time will be set by the registrars office.  You will be responsible for all material cover in the course.  The questions will be a mixture of short answer, multiple choice, matching and True/False type of questions. See the end of schedule for links to quidelines and sample questions.
  • Project (50%)
    • Project deliverable marks (see detail below)  will be based on the quality of the software product and the software engineering process and not upon time and energy spent.  This means each student will be expected to work smart.  A differential will be applied to the project mark for each individual in a group.  This will be based primarily on the periodic peer assessments.  See the current peer evaluation results by student number and by group.

  • Individual / Participation (15%)
    • Based on individual quizzes, assignments and class participation.
    • Each student should keep up to date a estimate/log book for her/his time spent on activities in the course. This can be asked for review by the Instructor or TA at any time.
    • There may be 1 or 2 individual assignments throughout the course. The emphasis is on your understanding of the crucial points covered in class and in the reeources.
    • Your involvement in class, seminars, workshops and meetings is important - your absence and/or lack of contribution will be noticed an affect yor mark.
