3.  Collecting times Develop awareness of different timers, how they are used, and how they work. 4.  How many can you do? Develop concept of duration of events. Students estimate and time length of time needed to do activities.  They record using a graph.  (partners, class sharing) timers; balls, skipping ropes; recording material

6.  Reading Digital Numbers Read and compare printed and digital numbers. Students print numbers and make digital numbers with rods.  The discuss similarities and differences.  (class discussion, partners) cards (5cmx5cm); counting rods
7.  Reading digital times to the hour Read digital times to the hour. Students read and discuss examples.  Two activities provide practice.  (individual, class sharing) flash cards; counting rods; paper circles

9.  Time to the Hour Read time to the hour on clock faces. Students use a clock face to show and discuss movement of hands.  In small groups students mime mystery time as set on clock hidden from view.  (class, group) clock faces or old clocks
