Plane symmetry p2
p2 consists of three half
turns, rotations of 180 degrees, and involves no reflections or glides.

Many of the works of M. C. Escher display this symmetry. They include:
-
Study of regular division of the plane with imaginary animals, 1926 or
1927*
-
Symmetry Watercolor 55, 1942
-
Symmetry Watercolor 115, 1963
In imaginary animals the colors used change the symmetry involved
to p1, a symmetry of two translations. In
Symmetry Watercolor 55 ignoring the colors changes the symmetry
pattern to p6, which consists of one half turn and a rotation through
120 degrees.
