Human rights movements provide a major step towards peace. Human rights became a universial ideology with the signing of the1948 United Nations Universial Declaration of Human Rights. In the years to follow human rights law has developed significantly with the passing of the two international covenents. Human rights violators are now recognized as international crimnals.
