The United Nations is a voluntary association of sovereign
independant states with the main goal of maintaining peace. It is the only
International Government Organization that is capable of decision making
on a loarge scale. The organization attempts to keep peacefull relations
among all countries involved. The UN also promotes human rights and equality
for all people. As well as peacemaking the UN is also responsible for peacekeeping.
The combined members of the UN form a large group of peacekeepers
who inforce peace all over the world.
