Part H. Pasting into Word
Now that you have done all your computer work you will want to edit, print and save your output. You may copy and paste your output from Minitab to a word processor such as WORD for editing, saving and printing.
Sometimes the default settings for the margins in WORD may be set so that there is not enough width to allow a full Minitab line to copy. In that case go to WORD File>Page Setup and make the left and right margins smaller.
FOLLOW (a) TO (g) BELOW STEP BY STEP
(a) Copy the output in your Session Window.
Click: Edit > Select All
Click: Edit > Copy
(b) Reduce Minitab to a label by clicking the down button [- ] at the top right of your Minitab Worksheet

You should now be back in Windows and your Minitab Session should appear as a label on the Task Bar
(c) Double click the WORD icon to open WORD.
(d) Once in WORD paste in your Minitab output, changing your left and right margins if necessary.
(e) Now edit your file as you wish.
(f) Once your done editing the file, you may print it from WORD. Also if your assignment is incomplete, you may save it on your network account or on your laptop drive c:, or on a floppy disk, and update it at a later time.
(g) After you have exited WORD you may reopen Minitab by double-clicking the Minitab label (see (b) above). If you have no more work to do, exit Minitab as described in Part I below.
Alternatively you may, if you wish, skip using WORD as above and edit and print your output directly from Minitab. Note however that Minitab's editor has no pager, so after you get your printout you may find that a page break may occur where you may not want it (such as in the middle of a plot).
To edit in Minitab proceed as follows.
(NOTE: use this method only if you are NOT using WORD.)
Click: Editor > Make Output Editable
Now you can move throughout the session window deleting anything you wish, numbering and typing in answers to questions etc.
You may also move sections of your document. To do this:
(a) highlight the section of the document you wish to move
(b) click: edit > cut
(c) move the cursor to the postion where you wish to paste this section
(d) click: edit > paste
When you're through editing, click: Editor > Make Read Only
Now your output cannot be edited. This will prevent you from inadvertently deleting an important part of your assignment. To print the output in the Session Window simply
Click: File > Print Window ; then click OK
Note: Since this is just a tutorial it is not necessary to print your document at this time.
If you are using a public printer, your printout will come out of the printer in a computer lab. Your student number will be displayed on the first or banner page of the output.
If you wish to save your output as a .txt file
Click: File > Save Window As
Such files cannot be retrieved back into Minitab for editing. You must use an appropriate editor such as WORD.
Now that your assignment is done, exit Minitab (see Part I below)
