Part B. ENTERING DATA

After Minitab is loaded, you will probably see two "Minitab Windows" open, a Session Window and a Data Window. If the data window is not open, double click the data window label at the bottom of the page with the mouse. (A picture of the data window is given below)

First we want to enter two columns of data

24.0

Follow steps (a)-(c) below.

(a) With your mouse (and using the picture below as a guide),

Make sure you hit the ENTER key after you enter each data value.

then click in the cell in Row 1, below C2 and enter the data, 21.5, 18.5, 28.0, ...
Make sure you hit the ENTER key after you enter each data value.

Note: You may, if you wish, assign names to your data columns. Just use the mouse to click in the cell just below C1 (see the picture above) and then type in an appropriate name. Similarly C2 can be named.

(b) After you have entered your data, click the minimize button [-] on the top right area of the data window in order to reduce the data window to a label (if you click the [] symbol the data window will enlarge).

(c) You should now be working in the session window. To see information about the data you have just entered, type
