Iridology

An iridology home page (one of too many!!)

This may not seem particularly psychological, however, the first time I came upon this idea the iris was being used to detect personality variables. A modern variation of phrenology. Now, there are so many hits when I type this in that I haven't found that version again. If you search, you can find courses in this and for several thousand dollars you too can practice this and compete with the tarot card readers for business.

I also found an interesting Skeptical definition of Iridology which provides a good counter to the clains on the various "questionable" pages. If you follow back on this link to the Skeptic's dictionary and follow links to junk science and pseudoscience, you will also find among the links the following: false memory syndrome, IQ and race, lie detector, multiple personality disorder, psychoanalysis, Rorshach ink blot test. Some of these are clearly more mainstream than Iridology and are dear to the heart of some psychologists. Where are we to draw the line between psychological science, and pseudoscience?
