The following images illustrate how your keyboard will function when it is set as a french keyboard, and when the appropriate keys are held down. If you don't have the french keyboard installed on your computer please click here for instructions.

Note: The orange keys on the following keyboard represent accent keys that you press first and then the letter you want to receive the accent.

 

With the Shift key (or Caps Lock) held down:

Installing the French Keyboard on your laptop:

  • Go to START menu

  • Then SETTINGS

  • Click on CONTROL PANEL

  • Click on DATE, TIME, LANGUAGE AND REGIONAL OPTIONS

  • Click on ADD OTHER LANGUAGES

  • Click on DETAILS

  • Scroll to FRENCH (CANADIAN)

  • Click on ADD and OK

  • Select LEFT ALT + SHIFT to switch languages

  • Click box at ENABLE INDICATOR ON TASKBAR

  • Click APPLY

Close what you have opened.
