FrontPage - Webpage Basics
FrontPage is a web page editor that
allows you to quickly and easily create pages for the web. Here
you will learn about design, layout, navigation and how to create
an interesting web page.
Getting Ideas
Sometimes it may be hard to know exactly
what to do to attract the right audience to your website.
It is important to do a lot of brainstorming before you begin to
make your web page. The more planning and organization that
you do in the beginning, the more time you will save in the long
run.
Storyboarding
Before you begin to create your website,
there are a lot of things to consider. One of the most important
is the layout and look of the site. It is a good idea to sketch
the layout of the page(s) on a piece of paper.

Defining Your Site
It's important to define your site,
especially if it's a huge site with lots of folders, because defining
your site ensures that the relative file names won't switch over
to their absolute file names when you try to put your web site on
the hosting server causing pictures to not load and links to be
broken.

Tables
It is a good idea to use tables
opposed to frames when creating a website. Frames are usually
very confusing for the viewer and are very frustrating at times,
they often prevent a page from being printable and sometimes
bookmarked. We suggest using tables in creating the layout of
your site.
Tables and/or charts are very easy
to make and modify. Charts and tables make it easy to show results
of projects, comparisons, etc. They allow you to see all of the
information at once in a easy to read format.
Once you have created your table,
you can make a number of modifications to things such as the table,
text, or cell format, borders and shading, etc.

Publishing a Website
Posting your site makes it available
for everyone to see on the web. This is done by placing all of the
site contents into a WWW folder on the server.
