Concept Map

A concept map is a graphic organizer that can help you visually organize your website.  In general, when creating a concept map, the major or most inclusive concept is placed at the top of the map and then more specific concepts follow.  Here at Acadia, Inspiration is the application of choice for creating concept maps.

When designing your website it is useful to organize the content of your website in a concept map.  In this case, your most inclusive concept would be the home page and the more specific concepts would be the links you would use off your home page.

Adding Links

Hyperlinks allow you to "link" things such as pictures, text documents, other websites, files, and other programs to your webpage. The easiest way to hyperlink is to select the text or picture that you wish to hyperlink and then right click on it. When the menu opens select "hyperlink" and then specify the address or location of the file that you wish to hyperlink to.
